Our special guest speakers will review Covid-19 fraud schemes that involve Laboratory Fraud, Identity Theft, Covid Test Kit Fraud, Covid Vaccine Card Fraud, Fee-Forward Fraud, Government Stimulus Fraud/CARES Act Fraud, Telemedicine Fraud and Medical Transportation Fraud.
Guest Speaker – Supervisory Special Agent Paul Baumrind, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Healthcare Fraud Unit, Washington, DC. Paul Baumrind has served as a law enforcement office for 25 years in three different agencies, including the Baltimore County Police Department, United States Federal Air Marshal Service, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As a Special Agent in the FBI, Paul has worked on the Healthcare Fraud, Organized Crime and Public Corruption/Civil Rights squads in Boston, Massachusetts. Paul served as the FBI lead case agent in the case against Pfizer Pharmaceuticals which resulted in a $2.3 billion settlement and the successful prosecution of the executives of Insys Therapeutics. Paul is currently assigned as a Supervisory Special Agent at the Healthcare Fraud Unit in Washington, D.C.
Guest Speaker – Intelligence Analyst Ann Hodges, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Healthcare Fraud and Intellectual Property Rights Intelligence Unit, Washington, D.C. Ann Hodges has been employed by the FBI for more than 11 years and has worked the healthcare fraud and identity theft threats as an Intelligence Analyst since 2014. Prior to employment with the FBI, Ann was employed by the U.S. Department of State and the Department of Justice as a trial paralegal and has more than 25 years of experience in the legal field as a paralegal and a paralegal manager. Ann received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and her Paralegal Certification from Merritt College, Oakland, CA.
