The Family Next Door – A Film About the Realities of Autism

The Family Next Door  will be shown March 13, 6 to 9pm (film begins at 7pm) at Stafford High School, 63 Stafford Indians Ln., Fredericksburg and March 16, 9am – noon (film begins 9:30am) at the University of Mary Washington, Hurley Convergence Center (UMW Parking Deck, entrance on Rt. 1, Jeff Davis Highway is closest parking).  UMW map can be found at documents.umw.edu/document/map-of-fredericksburg-campus/

The Family Next Door is a story about the Lund family (4 children, 2 on the autism spectrum) and their journey into the hyper-complex and emotionally draining maze that is autism.  The family was followed for 16 months and a story of never ending struggles, unexpected joys, drastically altered expectations, painful loneliness, unconditional love and hope was witnessed. Stay after the film for discussion and question and answer.
