The
dRC Deaf and Hard of Hearing Outreach Program, in conjunction with the
Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, offers access to programs,
services, technology and other opportunities to educate people who are
deaf or hard of hearing about choices they might make to enrich their own
lives and the lives of others around them. The dRC serves all people affected
by deafness or hearing loss, including older adults, children and young
people.
The
dRC also provides information and training to hearing people-including
family, friends, business people, service providers and others-so that
they might understand, communicate and interact effectively and appropriately
with people who are deaf or hard of hearing. DRC staff work personally
with individuals and groups, and respond directly to the needs of the individual
or group.
